Brookings-Harbor

beaches

The main attractions in Brookings and Harbor are the beautiful clean beaches.

Crissey Beach
The newest state park in Oregon inaugural season 2009, Crissey Field State Park, located at the mouth of the Winchuck River, features a state-of-the-art visitors center and miles of beach.
Harris Beach
Possibly the most well known beach in Brookings, it is a very popular spot for camping and flying kites. It's also a place where you can witness one of the most gorgeous sunsets in Oregon.
Sporthaven Beach
South Jetty Beach is popular for surfing, enjoying the scenery, trailer camping, and you can also see various commercial fishing vessels come in and out of the jetty. Below is a great picture of a local boat trying to cross the bar in hazardous conditions.
Lone Ranch Beach
A very secluded beach, it is mainly used for nice long walks or a warm camp fire in the evening.
Whaleshead Beach
Whaleshead beach has a beautiful resort right next to it. This provides a great place for vacationers to take a stroll on the beach or build a nice big sand castle.
